Critique: MICON / M1

      Despite being an impressive system, many of the finer details concerning design were lost among the technical jargon of the hardware world. I would imagine the paper to be of great interest to someone who works in the domain presented. In fact, it would seem as though this paper is a start to position M1 (and MICON) for commercial release.

      How M1 approaches what appears to be a configuration task became more clear after a second reading. A presentation of M1's framework apart from the specific application it was used for would have been much appreciated. The detailed examples given were lost on me, having only a basic understanding of integrated circuit design.

      It would be interesting to see the M1 approach applied to another domain. For example, M1's handling of physical constraints demonstrates it might be successful in mechanical design.
